Aside from running into paparazzi trying to get a shot of the latest celebrity, you will probably have the chance of seeing one of the many signs in the area that describe it as "27 miles of scenic beauty". Scenic beauty indeed is what you will find on the streets and beaches of this affluent neighborhood. With a firm variety of Malibu hotels to choose from, you will not have to worry about not being able to find a place to stay during your vacation. After a day of sightseeing and touring the city, you are guaranteed a comfortable bed and all the luxury a plush hotel certifies.

Malibu is located in the state of California. A beachside community, it has more beaches than you could count on one hand. This is wonderful, of course, for anyone who would love to take the opportunity to engage in some form of water-sports or take it easy with a stroll on a sunny afternoon. Some of the area's beaches come at a cost. Entrance fees are put in place to keep crowds from flooding beach fronts in heavy droves so if you're looking for a more exclusive or private experience, make sure you have enough for it.

Malibu's temperatures are moderate throughout the year. Being in California, the weather experienced in the area takes on a Mediterranean climate characteristic. Summertime which occurs during the middle of the year between June and September is hotter but with dry atmospheric conditions while the winters being cooler and more likely to have precipitation. This, of course, means that the composition of your luggage will have plenty to do with what time of year you choose to visit Malibu and when you do finally make a visit, be sure to have a camera with you that has plenty of storage space because there'll be more to photograph than you'll have the chance to.

If ancient history is an interest of yours then you'll love the 'Getty Villa', a museum that pays homage to classical civilizations such as the Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. You might also want to try a little horseback-riding at the 'Park Place Stable' where you can ride a galloping horse along trails that lead into the mountains of Malibu. Malibu is big on wine so when you're not eating your dinner with it, go out and have a taste of some of the finest wines in the region at 'Magic and Wine Tasting with David Minkin' or 'Malibu Wines'.

While vacationing in Malibu, it may also be a great idea to take the time to experience annual events and festivals such as the 'Annual Run the Waves', a fundraising and charity event that takes place at Zuma Beach each year in March. What would Malibu be without its very own wine-tasting festival? 'The Calabasas Malibu Wine and Food Festival' celebrates two things that make life wonderful and you will probably need very little motivation to take part in this event, but even if you don't make it for this, there are dozens of restaurants in the area that will cater to your taste-buds' every desire.

Each restaurant carries its own theme and serves a particular style of cuisine so your choice on where to dine at night will have much to do with the kind of food and ambiance you desire. Look out for restaurants such as 'Geoffrey's Malibu', 'Sage Room' and 'Beaurivage Restaurant', all recommended highly. After a delicious meal, the night won't have to end there with lounges, bars and nightclubs ready to receive you for a night of nothing but absolute unadulterated fun.
